Invitation to Your Free Health Check
From May 2025, patients in Scotland who are aged 30 to 60 years old are entitled to a free health check if they have not had a full review in the last 3 years.
This is part of a new national programme designed to help prevent serious health problems such as heart attack and stroke - conditions that are unfortunately very common in our area of Scotland.
Many people live with risk factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol or early diabetes without knowing it. Detecting these early can make a big difference.
Sometimes, simple changes to lifestyle can lower your risk. In other cases, medication may help protect your long-term health.
Book your test now to reveal your own health score and receive your personalised health plan.
What does the health check involve?
If you choose to take part, the process includes:
-
- Some blood tests
- A blood pressure and weight check
- Some brief questions including your alcohol and smoking intake and level of exercise
- A follow-up appointment with a practice nurse, GP or pharmacist who will:
- Give you a personalised health score (your risk of a cardiovascular problem such as stroke or heart attack over the next 10 years)
- Offer tailored advice and discuss any treatments that may benefit you
Please contact our reception team on 0141 648 1558 and ask to book your 30 to 60 year old health check.
You will first be offered a short appointment for blood tests, followed by a second appointment with the nurse, GP or pharmacist to review your results.
